Tommy Refenes Statement
The creator of Super Meat Boy Tommy Refenes confirms Epic Store exclusivity on the official Discord Channel of the game. “Super Meat Boy Forever is launching to Steam on April 2020, a year later after it releases. I understand people probably don’t like the modification but the outcome of this means better games for players. I would have to put it on Epic Store and I’m glad to make it exclusive.”
The development of the game was confirmed in 2014 as the mobile sequel to the game Super Meat Boy. Founders of Team Meat Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen teased the project as an action-stealth game. But after few years of no public updates, Edmund McMillen left Team Meat and started focusing on other projects, including The End is Nigh and The Binding of Isaac. In 2017, the founder restarted the project as a sequel and several new members join the team to help with development.
Super Meat Boy Forever is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch,Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Store. Tweets from the Team Meat indicate the game won’t launch on Steam, but rather distribute exclusively from the EpicGame Store. G-litch will ensure to release updates as we learn more about this development.
